Davidson will delve into the PAID Act implementation process as adapting and leveraging current Section 111 Query process technology is at the core of mitigating the risk of double damages for carriers and self-insureds settling workers’ compensation cases involving claimants on Medicare Advantage Plans. They’ll also bring you the latest and greatest on WCMSAs and the potential for formal regulation as opposed to agency guidance. Finally, Marty and Annie will cover recent recovery developments involving the Medicare Secondary Payer Statute.

Webinar objectives include:

Marty Cassavoy, Esq.

Marty Cassavoy is the Vice President of MSP Compliance for ExamWorks Compliance Solutions. He and his team develop solutions to challenges in all areas of Medicare Secondary Payer (MSP) compliance and across all insurance types.

Cassavoy is a trusted expert on both the technical and policy aspects of Section 111 reporting; sought-after advisor on investigating, addressing and responding to conditional payment matters; and an experienced innovator who has lent his expertise to develop program-level solutions of many of the industry’s most pressing problems. He is a frequent speaker, commentator and writer on all aspects of MSP compliance, where he is often unafraid to challenge the conventional approach to Medicare problems. Cassavoy is a member of the ExamWorks Compliance Solutions Leadership Team, providing strategic guidance for the organization’s MSP compliance products and services. Prior to joining ECS, he was Vice President of Policy at ISO Claims Partners, where he worked for more than a decade and where he - at one time or another – managed the Section 111 reporting, Medicare Set Aside and conditional payment investigation and mitigation departments. Cassavoy is a lawyer licensed to practice in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.


Annie Davidson, Esq., MSCC

Annie M. Davidson is the Senior MSP Compliance Counsel and Policy Strategist for ExamWorks Compliance Solutions (ECS). She has comprehensive experience in the areas of Medicare Secondary Payer (MSP) Act compliance and Medicaid recovery in liability, no-fault, and workers’ compensation matters. Ms. Davidson provides high-quality legal analysis to ensure the integrity and quality of ECS’ services and products. Additionally, she is a nationally recognized expert on MSP issues who presents regularly at local and national conferences.

Davidson is admitted to practice law in the State of Minnesota and the US District Court for Minnesota. Prior to her work with ECS, she practiced as an insurance defense litigator with a Minneapolis law firm. In that position, she gained significant experience handling workers’ compensation, liability, and no-fault cases and coordinated the firm’s policies for handling Medicare requirements. She is co-chair of the Policy and Legislative Committee of the National MSP Network. Davidson graduated cum laude from William Mitchell College of Law and received her Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities. In her free time, she serves on the board of a comprehensive non-profit mental health and human services organization, and practices meditation and Pilates.
