Medicare’s statutes and regulations provide a party to a reimbursement claim alternate ways to challenge Medicare’s demand and reduce the amount required for reimbursement. This includes circumstances where U.S. Treasury has already collected or actively collecting on outstanding conditional payments. This presentation will discuss the various statue and regulations that identify these alternate appeal processes.

This includes circumstances where U.S. Treasury has already collected or actively collecting on outstanding conditional payments. This presentation will discuss the various statue and regulations that identify these alternate appeal processes. Further, the presentation will discuss scenarios where these appeals may be successful. After the presentation, the audience should be able to identify the different ways to reduce Medicare’s conditional payment and when these type of appeals may be appropriate including: Reopen process, compromise requests and fixed percentage.
